FARWELL4HIRE AT HEFFNER’S

It’s time to hire Farwell again!

Farwell4Hire, in support of Cystic Fibrosis, is returning Friday, May 10th  (12:30-2:30pm) to the Heffner Auto Cleaning and Detailing Centre. But this year, we thought we’d add a little twist.
On top of the Heffner donation, we’re also auctioning off a Gold Package in Detailing for you to bid on and Mike Farwell, along with assistance from the Heffner team, will do the work. The highest bid will win, with all proceeds supporting the cause.

It’s extremely easy to bid. Please email Ryan Dentinger (rdentinger@heffner.ca) with the amount you’re willing to pay for Farwell to do the work. Highest bid wins. 
Bidding opens April 24th at 9 am and runs until May 3rd at 12 noon.

WHAT IS CYSTIC FIBROSIS?

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.
CF causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. The degree of CF severity differs from person to person, however, the persistence and ongoing infection in the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function, will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF.
Typical complications caused by cystic fibrosis are:

• Difficulty digesting fats and proteins
• Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies because of inability to absorb nutrients
• Progressive lung damage from chronic infections and aberrant inflammation
• CF related diabetes
• Sinus infections

It is estimated that one in every 3,600 children born in Canada has CF. More than 4,300 Canadian children, adolescents, and adults with cystic fibrosis attend specialized CF clinics.

Mike Farwell is a talk show host at 570 News in Kitchener. His goal with the #Farwell4Hire campaign is to raise funds and awareness with the goal of one day curing CF. #Farwell4Hire is a local campaign where you hire Farwell to perform odds jobs around your home or business, then instead of paying him, you make a donation towards the cause.
